The Court

There are two traffic courts in Mahnattan, Manhattan North and Manhattan South. Manhattan North is located at 159 East 125th Street, New York, NY; and Manhattan South is located at 2 Washington St., Manhattan, NY. Both are courts of the Department of Motor Vehicles, and are referred to as the “Manhattan DMV TVB.” The Manhattan North and Manhattan South courts are administrative in nature, and therefore are administrative tribunals and the cases are heard by an administrative law judge, or ALJ. Manhattan Highway Patrol

If you were given a speeding ticket on a highway in the Manhattan such as the East Side Highway, West Side Highway, Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) Highway, Henry Hudson Highway, or Interstate 95 (Cross Bronx Expressway), you were ticketed by an officer of the New York City Police Department’s Highway 1.
